UPDATE - MARCH 13, 2020

The health and safety of our guests is our priority at MotorCity Casino Hotel, and we support the Executive Order issued by the Governor today to stem the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). We are following all recommended guidelines with the goal of keeping our guests safe, while also continuing to play our part in the more than $400 million contributed to the state economy by the gaming industry.

With more than 5,000,000 annual visitors and over 2,600 employees, MotorCity Casino Hotel is key to the economic livelihood of our city. By taking tremendous care to follow all CDC guidelines as well as recommendations from local, state and federal health agencies and trade associations on best practices, we can continue to provide this economic stability as well as meet the needs of our guests.

These practices included intensified cleaning/disinfecting of highly trafficked surfaces and common areas as well as creating ten distinct areas in which we can limit capacity to 250 people or fewer in a designated area at one time, per the Governor’s Executive Order. This includes constructing temporary walls to section off various areas of the casino floor, and utilizing casino personnel to monitor these areas.

We’ve also taken the following steps across the property.

  • We’ve added more than 50 hand sanitizing stations
  • We’ve deployed a full-time team dedicated to wiping down surfaces frequently
  • We’ve employed the use of gloves where it makes sense
  • We’re asking employees and customers to stay home if they are sick
  • We’re regularly washing casino gaming chips
  • We’re maximizing fresh air circulation
  • We’re continuing to monitor CDC and WHO for additional safety recommendations

In addition, we are making the following temporary closures on the property.
Unless otherwise noted, these steps are effective immediately, through April 5th, 2020.

  • Slot machines and table games will be configured in a way to increase social distancing where possible
  • All Sound Board concerts have been canceled or re-scheduled
