The winning variations make Omaha Hi-Lo an intricate game. You need to think carefully. The objective is to finish with either the highest qualifying hand, or the lowest qualifying poker hand, and potentially split the pot.
You create your best poker or low hand using two of your four hole cards and three of the five community cards to create either a high or low hand. You have the ability to use different cards in order to make both a high and low hand. The regular hand rankings of poker apply for the high hand, but for a low hand to win half the pot, you need to have five cards that have a value of 8 or lower. All five cards that are utilized to create the low hand must be unique and cannot be part of a pair, three of a kind or four of a kind.
Each Player is dealt four (4) cards face-down and the dealer places five (5) "community" cards on the board. Each Player must use two (2) cards from the hand they were dealt and three (3) of the "community" cards on the board to make his/her best five (5) card hand.
